Locket of Love

This Locket my father made for my mother in 1942 while stationed in the Aleutian Islands.
It is made from a two nickles, which is the heart. The hinges are from a dime and the pivot pin was that of a penny. The engraving of Alma and designs were were placed in with the taping of a nail. The inside scene, (bonded up) is the view he had from his Quonset across the bay looking toward the volcano. The paint is that of tints and colors he created from miscellaneous ink and mother earth.
